Erin Rook is a graduate research assistant in the UNLV School of Public Health. His research focuses on the psychosocial health needs of transgender people and the development of culturally-relevant measures and interventions. Erin is also the co-founder of Gender Hive, a health equity organization that works to improve healthcare access and outcomes for trans and nonbinary people in Central Oregon. As part of his work in transgender health advocacy, he has trained hundreds of healthcare providers in the foundations of gender-affirming care. Erin's work is informed by his lived experience as a queer and trans person as well as his professional experience as a DEI strategist, survivor advocate, and journalist.
